Up Dawg Game 7/31/06
Tuesday, August 1st, 2006The Up Dawg team took the field sans Sharon after a freak warm-up injury (for which I disavow all responisbility) during the Summer I postseason tournament over the weekend.
After giving up a solo home run in the top of the first, the team took their first at bats in the new purple shirts (pictures coming soon), and the new shirts seemed to have good mojo going on. We plated 11 runs punctuated by a 2 out grand slam by yours truly. In the second inning, we gave up only 1 run again and plated another 4 runs to extend our lead to 15-2.
In the third inning we had an even better inning giving up no runs and put up another 3 runs of our own to extend our lead to 18-2. In the fourth, we gave up our most runs of the game, 4, to see or lead trimmed to 18-6. In the bottom half of the inning Kristine hit a third great shot of the night to score enough runs to give us a run rule victory 22-6. As that play was finishing, Michael took a thrown ball off the arm and chin resulting in a lot of pain and a pretty little gash. This just adds to the momentum to make our team name ER bound.
Up Dawg is now 3-0 and is running an 11 game winning streak.
