Up Dawg loses heartbreaker 13-11
Up Dawg came into the game last Monday looking for their first victory over Foul Balls this year but fell short again 13-11. The game started off well enough as we placed 6 runs on the board in the top of the first but we were unable to capitalize on the advantage as we gave up 5 in the bottom half of the inning. In the second inning both teams failed to score and the bats continued to be silent for Up Dawg in the third inning. Our opponents came through with a couple of runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead 7-6.
In the fourth inning we were able to scoot a run across to tie the score at 7 before giving up a couple of runs to make the score 9-7 after four. In the fifth the bats came back to life with 4 runs to take the lead back 11-9 before we gave up four more in the bottom of the inning to make the score 13-11. We took the field in the sixth to try to win the game but the bats failed again as we were unable to score and fell 13-11. The loss makes the Up Dawg record 1-2 for the Summer season.
